The Newark Pilots have a new leader at the helm, and his return marks an exciting chapter for the team and the community. Johnny Brown Jr., a three-sport native of Lyons, NY, brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the Pilots. His journey from a small-town athlete to a seasoned coach across the country is a story of dedication, skill, and a deep love for baseball. As he steps into his role as head coach, Coach Brown is ready to bring a fresh, aggressive style of play that promises to energize the team and its fans.
Coach Brown says, "Playing college baseball in Southern California and at Le Moyne College, playing semi-pro for Independent League teams, coaching for over 20 years some of the most competitive teams at some of the largest venues in North Carolina, coaching several players that are currently playing collegiately and professionally, makes it refreshing to come back to the small town I grew up in - home."
He also says, "I look forward to bringing the Newark Pilots' fans an exciting and aggressive style of baseball with players from all over the United States and several other countries. We will play a hard-nosed, old-school style of baseball that will emphasize having fun."
